2024 College Football Game of the Week (Part 3): Weeks 10-12

In today’s article we cover the best games of the week for weeks ten through twelve. We’re limiting the number of games in this part so that we can include an equal number of games in both Part Three and Part Four next week.

–Alabama will miss the 2024 college football playoffs

–Deion Sanders will be the head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes in 2025

–James Franklin holds off Penn State

Week 10: Ohio State at Penn State

A game that could not only be a deciding factor in who goes to Indianapolis for the Big Ten championship. But it could also be a game that determines James Franklin’s future. A loss would most likely mean no Big Ten championship bid, taking their playoff chances out of their own hands, and another big game loss under Franklin’s belt. If these things happen again under James Franklin, questions could arise about the confidence Penn State has in Franklin as their coach. Ohio State has had one, if not the best, offseason in college football and this will be a huge test to see if it was all worth it.

Week 11: Georgia at Ole Miss

Lane Kiffin and his coaching staff have built something special in Oxford, Mississippi and will compete for a spot in the SEC championship game this time into the season. But to be the best, you have to beat the best and the Georgia Bulldogs have certainly been one of the best over the past few seasons, not just in the SEC, but in all of college football. Carson Beck will be competing for Georgia for a spot as a Heisman candidate, but Jaxon Dart would also like to have his name called. Both high-powered offenses have a real chance to be one of the twelve teams in the playoffs next season, and winning this game would do nothing but push them to the top.

Week 12: Tennessee at Georgia

A potential top-25, SEC matchup between the hedges in Athens, Georgia, late in the season is a recipe for an instant classic game. Tennessee is coming off a down year after having one of its best years in a long time just two years ago. But now Tennessee has a very solid defense and a promising, but young quarterback at the helm of their offense in Nico Iamaleava. Iamaleava completed just 28 passes for 314 yards and just two touchdowns last season. Tennessee will look to get back into playoff contention, and taking down Georgia in Athens could be the best way to do that. As for the Bulldogs, there isn’t much to say about Georgia that I haven’t said in this series. They’ve been good the last few years, they’ll be good this year, and if they’re in a game, it’ll probably be a good game.
