An exchange student from the icy wilderness of Alaska is abruptly sent away after enduring the bone-chilling horrors of an uninsulated inner-city Australian row house.

Anniagruk Kusugak, 24, an Inuit woman from Alaska, had been eagerly anticipating her semester abroad in Australia and had envisioned a few sun-filled months in the land below. What she didn’t expect, however, was the shockingly substandard levels of insulation in inner-city Australian homes during the winter months.

“Way too cold for me, I don’t know how you do it.” said Anniagruk.

With her dreams of a sun-drenched Australian adventure shattered by the harsh reality of the Australian winter, Anniagruk is comforted by the fact that she will soon be back home, where it is a lot warmer: Alaska.
