Faye Scott obituary – Pottstown, PA

Faye (McCard) Scott, 84, of Pottstown, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Exton. She was the wife of the late Herb Scott, who died in 1984.

Born and raised in Ashburn, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Harriett (Burdett) McCard.

Mrs. Scott was owner and CEO of Great Scott Broadcasting and owned numerous radio stations along the East Coast of the United States, including WPAZ of Pottstown, their first radio station.

Together with her husband, she was an active member of the Congregation Mercy & Truth Synagogue for many years. She was a lifetime member of Brookside Country Club, Pottstown.

She is survived by four sons: Marc Scott, husband of Melissa of Colorado; Mitchell Scott of Maryland; Jeffrey Scott and Peter of Florida, and Todd Scott, husband of Kimberly of Villanova; a daughter, Karen Scott Flores, wife of Nicholas of Pottstown; one sister, Lois Blair of Columbus, GA, and seven grandchildren, Robyn, Cheyenne, Trinity, Elizabeth, Charlotte, Anna and Herbert Lucas.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Robin Scott, and her two sisters and three brothers.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte Street, Pottstown. The funeral will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Scott’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
