Crash claims the life of a 45-year-old man who was thrown from a car in Frankford

A 45-year-old man died Tuesday evening after being thrown from a car he was riding in Frankford.

The victim was driving a Honda Accord north on Frankford School Road, south of Thatcher Street, around 10:30 p.m., according to a Delaware State Police news release. As he came around a bend, he lost control of the car, which left the east side of the road, struck a fence and ended up in a ditch, police said.

The man was thrown from the car and pronounced dead at a hospital. Police will identify him after his family has been notified.

The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the incident. Anyone who witnessed the crash should contact Senior Cpl. R Albert at 302-703-3266.
