GARDNER, Mass. – While expectations were high, so was the turnout for the 10th annual “May It Forward” rally, a spring charity event for veterans organized by the Facebook group Bronco Owners NorthEast States (BONES). As with previous shows, this year’s two-day gathering kicked off with a Friday cruise through north-central Massachusetts, including an informal photo stop for 45 Broncos and their owners. The convoy then continued for approximately 40 miles along scenic New England roads until they reached their destination, the Red Apple Farm in Phillipston, Massachusetts. There, attendees were treated to delicious food, cold drinks, some music and an art show – along with Bronco-style camaraderie.

Although this event is free to all attendees, donations are requested to raise money for the Travis Mills Foundation. That organization hosts an annual retreat in Rome, Maine, for post-9/11 veterans who were injured while on active duty or as a result of their service to our nation. It offers an all-inclusive, all-expenses-paid, barrier-free experience where wounded soldiers participate in workshops, adaptive sports and activities, and group meetings to help them bond and heal with other veterans and their families.

The big draw for May It Forward, of course, is Saturday’s show, which this year featured about 100 Broncos representing 13 states. The Bronco family showed up early to help fill the many goody bags and to label and sort the enormous amount of raffle prizes on hand – all donated by members and vendors. The generosity of these people and businesses near and far is key to the continued success of the May It Forward event. The morning flew by and soon lunch was served – all donated by the cooking crew! Then it was time for our friend John, the local Foundation representative, to give a detailed presentation about the goings-on at the veterans retreat and the progress being made there. That seemed to put people into full ‘giving mode’ as the big raffle started and some extremely lucky people went home with some really great prizes.

In the 10 years that BONES has hosted this event, BONES has raised more than $100,000 for veterans through the Travis Mills Foundation ( What started as a spring weekend with Bronco friends ten years ago has come a long way and blown away all expectations. That’s why May It Forward is a ‘go’ for next year, scheduled for May 16-17, 2025, at the PACC social club on Kendall Pond Rd. West in Gardner, Massachusetts. Bronco owners are asked to put May It Forward on their 2025 agenda to not only have a great time with some great people, but also to do something good for those who have sacrificed for our country. I hope to see you all at the 11th annual May It Forward!
