Maine campground named among the 5 best places for glamping

In Maine, you’ll find many different opinions on how camping is defined and how to enjoy it. One group will tell you that camping is simply the most important thing, from a tent to water to light rations.

Others may tell you that camping in Maine consists of a caravan or camper with electricity, water, plumbing and internet. Sounds like the comfort of home, but you’re just enjoying it in the woods.

Somewhere between these two definitions lies glamping. A trend that has swept the country over the past decade, it takes what many consider traditional camping and makes it much more glamorous.

According to Time Out, there are a handful of campgrounds in the United States that have expanded their glamping offerings better than others. And one of them can be found in Kennebunkport, Maine.

Time Out has named Sandy Pines one of the 5 best glamping spots in America. The campground is already popular with traditional campers who want to be close to all the surrounding towns such as Wells and Ogunquit, as well as nearby beaches and attractions.

But Sandy Pines is fully committed to providing a wide range of glamping options for those on a budget and those who don’t. The campsite has a number of glamping tents for couples, equipped with a king-size bed, mini fridge and air conditioning.

But moreover, a glamping adventurer can rent one of their unique offerings. A chance to spend the night in a glass house (don’t throw stones), a wagon or even a shepherd’s hut. Sandy Pines has gone above and beyond and is therefore one of the most sought after glamping destinations in America.

Sandy Pines is now open for the 2024 season.
