More than 4K expected at Athletic Brewing Company’s Fairfield Road Races this weekend

Fairfield, CT: Athletic Brewing Company, America’s largest non-alcoholic brewery, is the new title sponsor of the Fairfield Road Race. The race looks forward to the next chapter with the Connecticut-based brewing company, which aims to positively impact the health, fitness and happiness of its customers while making a major positive impact on communities and the environment. The new partnership has excited the Connecticut running community and the race has grown to over 4,000 runners!

“We are pleased to continue to increase our support of this great community event,” said Bill Shufelt, co-founder and CEO of Athletic Brewing Company. “The Fairfield Half Marathon was one of the first road races where we sampled Athletic brews in 2018. Both co-founder John Walker and I were born in Connecticut, so our roots run deep. We are excited to offer our great tasting non-alcoholic brews to participants and spectators this summer.”

The Athletic Brewing Company Fairfield Road Race returns this Saturday and Sunday with its signature two-day event at Jennings Beach in Fairfield, CT.

The 5K and Lil’ Stags Kids Fun Run will take place as usual on Saturday. New this year is that the Athletic Brewing Beer Mile follows the Kids Fun Run. The half marathon will be held on Sunday. Sponsored by Fairfield University, the “Lucas Challenge” challenges runners to conquer both the half marathon and 5K, covering a total of 26.2 miles over both days of the race weekend.

A favorite with runners, the Post-Race Beach Party features live music, food vendors and an awards ceremony. The race also includes a number of bands and cheer groups along the ½ marathon and 5K race courses cheering on all runners as they pass.

The Athletic Brewing Company Fairfield Road Race is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that supports a number of local charities each year. The Fairfield YMCA, Wakeman Boys and Girls Club, Ben’s Lighthouse and Hole in the Wall Gang Camp are just a few of the organizations that receive thousands of dollars in support from the event each year.

The Athletic Brewing Company Fairfield Road Race is organized by the Fairfield Fire Fighters and Fire Department. Other race sponsors include Fairfield University, MJP Wealth Advisors, O’Reilly Electric, Connecticut Orthopedics, Connecticut Orthopedic Institute at Saint Vincent’s Medical Center, Sturges Ridge of Fairfield, Anthem BlueCross BlueShield, UCAN, 95.9 The Fox, Star 99.9 and AMR.
