A landline outage has been reported in Iowa

SIOUX CITY – A landline outage is reportedly impacting communications across the state of Iowa.

In a social media post Thursday morning, Woodbury County Emergency Management reported a “technical issue affecting landline telephone service in the state of Iowa, including Woodbury County.”

Cell phone, wireless and 911 services are not affected, the department wrote.

News organizations across the state reported phone outages in Iowa Thursday morning; There are varying reports on whether the outage is impacting 911 calls: Woodbury County Emergency Management says 911 service is not affected, while the Dixon County (Nebraska) Sheriff’s Office wrote in a Facebook post that 911 is affected. Thurston County (Nebraska) 911 is also affected, according to the post from the Dixon County Sheriff’s Office.
