Michael Blair and Cam Kellett in action at RBC Canadian Open

Former Eastern Michigan University golfers Michael Blair And Cam Kellett made their presence felt in the first round of the PGA Tour’s RBC Canadian Open on Thursday, May 30 at Hamilton Golf and Country Club. Kellett impressed with a two-under-par 68, tied for 20th, while Blair ended the day with an even-par 72, ranked 95th.

The second round of the RBC Canadian Open takes place on Friday, May 31. The tournament features a strong contingent of 28 Canadian players who will be looking to continue the country’s recent success following Nick Taylor’s thrilling play-off victory over Tommy Fleetwood last year.

David Skinns moved into the solo lead late Thursday, posting a bogey-free, eight-under 62 to move one stroke ahead of Sam Burns and Sean O’Hair. Robert MacIntyre is two strokes behind after shooting a 64, while two-time RBC Canadian Open champion Rory McIlroy is four strokes behind the four-under pace.

Friday’s round will be televised on the Golf Channel from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM ET. Coverage continues Saturday on Golf Channel from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM ET, followed by CBS from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM ET. Sunday’s final round begins on the Golf Channel from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM ET and then moves to CBS from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM ET.

Blair earned his spot in the tournament by shooting a two-under 68 in Monday’s qualifying match at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley (North Course). Kellett secured his exemption in spectacular fashion, setting a new course record with a six-under 64 at Tarandowah Golfers Club to top the leaderboard and book his place in the Canadian National Open Championship.
